They are creative, beautiful, and different. I saw Jen and Matt Schmidt’s wedding album. It was absolutely amazing!" So we took the natural next step in our relationship and met for a beer at Tonewood Brewery. It was there we found out that Caressa works at our favorite place, Neshaminy Creek Brewing. Right then and there we knew this couple would be cool yet approachable ...down to earth and fun!
True elegance laced with Vans shoe laces and DIY touches was the design theme of this rustic wedding. The bouquets were so simply beautiful. My favorite, the quilted patches on the inside of Caressa's dress representing generations of love passed down to her and John. The old bottles as centerpieces mixed with pumpkins carved by friends ....it was all just really magical. It was just so YOU. My favorite? The skeletons. I mean, c'mon, who doesn't like a few bones greeting them at the entrance to a wedding! So great.
Caressa + John had their cousin Emma perform the wedding ceremony at Woods Edge Farm in NJ. The venue was showered with glowing lights and smelled of fresh hay and grass. It was raining out and soooo windy but that didn't stop them from embracing their day to the fullest. You could tell that it wasn't all the stuff that was important to them, although beautifully done, but the people! And maybe the beer. But MOSTLY the people! No really, family and friends were their obvious priority. Everyone was SO nice to us that day. We really felt like we had been invited to the wedding and just happened to be wedding photographers that came with their game face on!
Because of the heavy rain and wind it was SO hard to get outdoor photos but we tried our best! They went with it and we had fun and braved the weather. The cool part about people just rolling with it, is we end up with some amazing rain shots that tell the story of your day! You guys were such troopers. This wedding summed up in a few words:
Humor . Laughter . Beer . Family . Friends. Food .
I am pretty sure these are the things printed on like, every single sign people hang in and outside of their house!!! Congratulations you two. We loved being a party of your day!
