We first met Chelsea + Alby at their engagement shoot at the beautiful Morris Arboretum. We immediately bonded over our mutual love for the awkwardly funny and avant garde sushi. In fact we did so much talking about the Japanese cuisine that we both left and consumed approximately $80/couple in rice wrapped fish! Now if that isn't a connection?! Their shoot was filled with so much energy and love. We knew these two were going to be a blast to work with in just a few short months.
Fast forward to October at one of our favorite Landmark venues; the beautiful Hotel Du Village. Like most days in October .....it rained. Wait what?! HELLO! It didn't phase these two and the rain let up right as we did the first look. Perfect timing to match their first meeting at a wedding in 2012. While the bride and groom were exchanging vows these two were exchanging phone numbers. An immediate feeling of chemistry developed into an old fashioned love story which grew stronger and stronger despite the many miles between the both of you. Alby couldn't wait to talk to his California girl during his nightly phone conversations (the new love letter) that he fell for in Connecticut at a chance meeting about her childhood in Alaska. (Wow, that was a mouthful...hopefully of sushi!!) It didn't take long for Alby to uproot his life and go to Cali to move in with the love of his life. Now you guys are all settled down in the city of brotherly love where I'm sure you will be known as the house who gives out the giant size candy for Halloween. Your friends and family were so warm and inviting and truly made everything a great experience.
Thank you so much for letting us document your day. You put your trust in us and that is EVERYTHING. P.S. We eat salmon... A LOT of it! So let us know next time you have a trip up to Alaska to go fishing and we will bring a couple of sleeping bags with us to the cabin! #chelsbert2017
