So, these two. How cool are they? SO cool. I mean truly, WONDER-ful. Is it any WONDER they had such a rad wedding? It really was a WONDERland of beauty! Ok, I'll stop...but I will tell you why they are SOOOOO cool....they knew they wanted the focus to be about them and their unique love. They wanted it to be eclectic, fun and totally rock n' roll. They called us up and asked us if we could deal with all of the crazy logistics of their Asbury Park wedding. We knew we could but we would need a crew. So we grabbed a couple of talented friends and sweated our butts off following these two crazy love birds around all day.
Dana + Todd let us know they would be getting ready at different hotels, "somehow" traveling to the ceremony site which may or may not be be here or there (ended up being at Sunset Park Island), the reception would most likely be at The Wonder Bar, but that they would DEFINITELY be walking a Nawlins style 2nd Line Parade from the ceremony to the Bar. HELLO! You had me at 2nd line. I started salivating the minute they explained their day over the phone. THIS was my kind of wedding, although, most of our clients are MY kind of wedding at this point. This one was just a little different with all of the guests dressed in costume and their friend Marco Benevento (he's rad, you should totally check him out on Spotify!) playing their wedding reception.
When Colin and I walked into The Asbury Inn we were smacked in the face with THE most incredible smell. Right away we were greeted by the lovely Kate, the Inn keeper so to speak...who was making homemade baked goods for her guests. This place...is just SO amazingly beautiful and we encourage you to stay there if you find yourself in Asbury, NJ. The scenery allowed us to photograph the gorgeous Dana in her natural 20's style. You will see below, the vibe of this chic Inn combined with our roaring beauty was a perfect combo.
We broke a few rules this wedding and may have done some shots with these two fools. We had a relationship going in since we had already documented Dana's sister's wedding a few years before. SORRY for the name calling. I know your name is DANA! I really do. But, regardless of what Ma says....you guys are twins. I don't care WHAT your birth certificate says.
Needless to say, your love is even more special than this day, but damn, this day was goooooood! Live it up together kids, you deserve all the happiness. Rock on!
