Talking with Mary Beth was a like opening the window on one of the first spring days of the year and just letting the fresh air whoosh through your home. She was so laid back and just extremely excited about marrying her best friend. She was referred through friends who also had a winter wedding (New Years actually) and were so happy with their winter pictures. Mary Beth just had one request. She wanted it to snow. OK. We don't control the weather...but she knows someone who does. She prayed on it and sent love to her Grandfather who she loved dearly. We ventured off to her wedding in New Hope and before we knew it, we were driving 10 miles around slip sliding around in none other than, SNOW! We had never been so happy to see that fluffy white havoc causing precipitation in our lives!
We pulled up to Mary's house and saw her brother-in-law and father shoveling the drive. This wasn't just a little flurry. This was a full on blizzard...meanwhile my heart was on fire! We could not wait to get our hands on all the stuff and put it out there in the snow. We also could not WAIT to see the look on Mary Beth's face. We knew she was going to be beaming. Mary Beth let us know, this was going to be an intimate gathering and just family would be gathering at the house beforehand. Mom was mopping the foyer floor right after we left our footprints. Colleen, Mary Beth's sister was running around getting champagne and occupying Sophie + Chloe, Tom's two adorable daughters who proved to be the stars of the flower girl show.
Centre Bridge Inn is a humble and quaint venue located on the corner of Centre Bridge and overlooking the Delaware River. There is a beautiful river walk adjacent to the property. We weren't exactly hurting for photo ops. Mary + Tom stood out on the walk with massive pieces of blue ice drifting behind them during their dreamy first look. They strolled long the walk in what seemed to be their own snow globe. It was freezing out, but I was burning up. This was FANtastically beautiful!
Inside the Inn, close friends and family gathered around the fireplace amongst lit candles and Christmas lights. The tables were donned with evergreen and red ribbon. We were in heaven. You could not HELP but feel at home ...if your home is a Norman Rockwell painting. This very special day was made even more so because this was the first time in three years that Tom's parents had all of their grandchildren in one place.
Thank you for having us there to document your day. We felt so honored to be a part of such a small gathering celebrating such love and affection. Can we do this again next year?!
