While first talking with Nicole and Michael, Nicole told us that she was also a creative. She is a designer and we were psyched that she chose US to document her day. So when they mentioned heading to Laurita Winery to kick back, talk about their wedding and take some engagement photos, we knew this was the perfect mix of old and new, modern and traditional for our eclectic designer and her beautiful beau. Since Nicole is an interior designer (did we say that already?! LOL! the photos of the details of how the wedding was put together was so important to her. She wanted photographers that valued every single part of the day from the minor details to the crazy dance moments. They needed warriors who would tackle the day and not be thrown off by the fact that there were at LEAST 3 Mike's in the wedding party. NO BIGGIE. We got this. Nicole was very close with my grandmother, who luckily got to meet Mike before she passed, and she adored him and could not wait until they got married. She was so excited. To honor her and make her feel like she is a big part of their special day, our couple got married at her beautiful church, which is a round building covered in the most stunning rainbow stained glass you could ever imagine.
Planning for a wedding in the middle of February, they were a bit nervous as to what mother nature had in store for them. Luckily, she gave us the best possible outcome—mild weather during the day and snow flurries at night! The venue's ballroom had us almost completely surrounded by windows to the outdoors, making it feel like we were feasting and dancing the night away in a giant snow globe.
We got lucky with these two...not just because The Stone House at Stirling Ridge is beautiful and has the most delicious food and amazing staff but ALSO because it snowed!!!!! We had so much fun capturing these special moments.
